The Story & Details
An ancient forest above. A frozen waterfall below. An entire landscape held within stone.
Some crystals are selected after they've been cut and polished. Others are chosen long before their final form is revealed.
This extraordinary Statement Moss Agate Druzy Tower began as rough material personally selected for Crystal Asylum, before being custom crafted to reveal the remarkable natural formations hidden within.
Standing an impressive 24.5cm tall and weighing approximately 1.29kg, this is a substantial collector specimen with an almost otherworldly appearance.
Deep forest-green moss inclusions gather towards the pointed termination, creating the impression of ancient woodland emerging through mist. Delicate yellow-green and earthy mineral formations trace their way through the translucent chalcedony, adding depth and movement to the upper section.
Below, the character of the stone changes dramatically.
A vast open druzy formation runs through the centre of the tower, its crystalline surface resembling a frozen waterfall cascading between the darker green mineral landscapes.
The contrast is extraordinary. Smooth, polished Moss Agate meets thousands of tiny exposed quartz crystals, creating a specimen that combines the beauty of a finished carving with the intricate structure of natural crystal growth.
A Waterfall of Quartz
The defining feature of this tower is its extensive druzy cavity.
Running through a substantial section of the carving, the exposed crystalline formation creates a dramatic contrast between the polished exterior and the natural texture within.
Countless tiny quartz crystals cover the cavity, catching and reflecting light across the surface.
In certain lighting conditions, small rainbow flashes become visible amongst the crystalline features, adding another layer of interest to an already remarkable specimen.
From a distance, the druzy resembles a pale waterfall flowing through the stone. Up close, it reveals a complex arrangement of individual crystal growths, delicate textures and natural mineral features.
It's the sort of specimen that changes completely depending on how closely you look.
Chosen Before It Was Carved
What makes this tower particularly special is the story behind its creation.
The original rough material was personally selected for Crystal Asylum before being custom cut and polished to showcase its most distinctive features.
Rather than simply choosing a finished tower from a catalogue, the material was selected for its natural moss inclusions, substantial druzy formation and potential as an exceptional display specimen.
The finished carving preserves that character, allowing the green mineral landscapes and exposed crystalline cavity to become the defining features of the piece.
This is not simply a standard tower with attractive colouring. It is a specimen whose final form was chosen around the natural features already present within the stone.
One selected stone. One custom creation. One extraordinary specimen.
The Character of Moss Agate
Moss Agate is a variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of quartz, recognised for its distinctive moss-like mineral inclusions.
Despite its name, the green formations are not preserved moss or plant material.
They are naturally occurring mineral inclusions that create intricate branching, landscape-like and botanical patterns within the chalcedony.
In this particular tower, the green inclusions are beautifully contrasted by milky-white areas and a large exposed quartz druzy cavity.
The result is an unusual combination of translucent stone, natural colour variation and crystalline texture.
Traditional Associations
Within contemporary crystal traditions, Moss Agate is often symbolically associated with:
- Grounding: Connection to the earth and natural world.
- Money & Prosperity: Traditional associations with abundance and growth.
- Success & Opportunity: New beginnings and developing possibilities.
- Spiritual Growth: Reflection, patience and personal development.
These are traditional spiritual associations rather than scientifically established effects.

Display & Care
Due to its height and substantial weight, display this tower on a stable, level surface capable of supporting the specimen securely.
Position away from shelf edges and areas where it could be accidentally knocked over.
Clean the polished exterior gently with a soft, dry cloth. The exposed druzy contains delicate crystalline formations and should not be scrubbed or subjected to abrasive cleaning products.
A very soft brush may be used carefully to remove loose dust from accessible areas of the druzy cavity.
Natural inclusions, fractures, pits, crystal growth features and surface variations are part of the specimen's individual character.
Please note: Rainbow flashes, crystal sparkle and translucency vary depending on lighting and viewing angle. Measurements and weights are approximate.
