The Story & Details
Dark, dramatic and beautifully architectural. A striking meeting of glassy crystals, soft peach formations and deep black Chalcedony.
Some specimens are beautiful because of their colour. Others because of their formation.
This one has both.
Weighing an impressive 929g, this remarkable Indian mineral specimen brings together a dark, almost inky Chalcedony base, beautifully defined cubic Apophyllite crystals and thick, peach-toned Stilbite formations.
The contrast is extraordinary.
Large, translucent Apophyllite crystals rise from the darker matrix, their glassy faces catching the light. Between them, soft peach and cream Stilbite crystals grow in layered, bladed formations, bringing warmth and texture to the piece.
Look closely and you'll discover smaller crystals scattered across the surface, subtle sparkle within the dark matrix and intricate natural growth patterns throughout.
Bold structure. Beautiful contrast. An entire mineral landscape in one specimen.
The Beauty of Apophyllite, Stilbite & Chalcedony
This specimen brings together three visually contrasting mineral formations.
Apophyllite is admired for its exceptional lustre and beautifully defined crystal faces. Often forming square or block-like crystals, it can appear almost glass-like when the light catches its surfaces.
Here, the larger Apophyllite crystals create a striking architectural appearance, with smaller crystal growth adding further detail.
Peach Stilbite provides a softer contrast. Its distinctive bladed and layered formations range from creamy white to warm peach, creating beautiful clusters amongst the clearer Apophyllite.
Beneath these formations sits the deep, dark Chalcedony matrix, providing a dramatic background that makes the lighter crystals stand out.
Chalcedony is a microcrystalline variety of Quartz, and its fine structure can create a smooth or subtly sparkling appearance.
Together, these contrasting formations make this specimen particularly interesting to explore from different angles.
A Remarkable Indian Mineral Formation
Originating from Maharashtra, India, this specimen comes from a region celebrated for its extraordinary mineral formations, particularly Apophyllite and Stilbite.
These minerals commonly develop within cavities in ancient volcanic rocks, where mineral-rich fluids allow crystals to grow over geological time.
The result is a naturally formed arrangement of contrasting crystal habits, colours and textures.
This piece is particularly striking for its large, well-defined Apophyllite crystals, substantial Stilbite growth and dark Chalcedony background.
At nearly a kilogram, it has a wonderful sense of presence and is naturally self-standing, making it an impressive addition to a mineral cabinet, display shelf or crystal collection.
Energy & Intention
Within crystal traditions, Apophyllite, Chalcedony and Stilbite are associated with a beautiful balance of spiritual awareness, grounding and calm.
- Spiritual Growth: Apophyllite is traditionally associated with intuition, reflection and higher awareness.
- Clarity & Focus: Often used symbolically to encourage clear thinking, perspective and understanding.
- Grounding: Dark Chalcedony is associated with stability, balance and feeling anchored.
- Protection & Warding: Dark stones are traditionally incorporated into practices centred around protection and energetic boundaries.
- Peace & Calm: Stilbite is commonly associated with gentleness, tranquillity and emotional balance.
A beautiful contrast between strength and softness, clarity and stillness.
