The Story & Details
A little amethyst. A little flower agate. A whole world of quartz hidden within.
Some specimens are extraordinary because of their intensity. Others are captivating because of the way different minerals, colours and formations come together.
This exceptional Brazilian Amethyst, Flower Agate & Quartz Druzy Sphere belongs firmly in the second category.
Weighing an impressive 1.5kg, this individually selected statement sphere showcases a beautifully delicate palette of soft lilac, lavender, blush pink and creamy white, interrupted by sparkling natural crystal cavities.
The colours flow gently into one another, creating an almost watercolour-like appearance across the polished surface.
Areas of pale pink and muted mauve surround the crystalline openings, while fine natural mineral boundaries trace their way through the stone.
But the real beauty lies in the relationship between the polished exterior and the exposed crystals beneath.
Across the front, a remarkable open druzy formation reveals a collection of translucent lavender and pale violet crystal points, nestled within the surrounding stone.
Some crystals appear small and closely packed, while others form larger, more defined points that catch the light beautifully.
It's an extraordinary combination of softness and structure, with delicate colouring surrounding the natural geometry of crystalline quartz.
A Beautifully Unusual Mineral Combination
This sphere has been supplied as a combination of Amethyst, Flower Agate and Quartz, bringing together several visually distinctive features within one substantial specimen.
The Amethyst introduces beautiful lavender and violet colouring, particularly within the exposed crystalline formations.
Soft blush-pink and creamy areas flow through the polished exterior, with delicate flower-like inclusions identified by the supplier as Flower Agate.
These subtle patterns add a gentler character to the sphere, contrasting beautifully against the more sharply defined crystal cavities.
Quartz formations are also visible throughout the openings, creating areas of transparency, sparkle and natural crystalline detail.
The precise mineral boundaries and individual phases have not been independently analysed, but the combination of colours, textures and crystal formations is visually remarkable.
A Crystal Garden Within
The defining feature of this sphere is its exposed crystalline interior.
Rather than displaying a single uninterrupted polished surface, the stone contains several natural openings revealing crystal growth beneath.
The largest cavity stretches across the front of the sphere, creating an almost horizontal band of lavender crystals framed by pale pink and creamy mineral layers.
Smaller openings continue around the sides and reverse, revealing additional crystal formations and natural colour variation.
As the sphere is turned, different textures become visible, from smooth polished stone to exposed quartz crystals and delicate mineral inclusions.
It's a piece that rewards being viewed from every direction.
The Character of Amethyst, Agate & Quartz
Amethyst is the purple variety of crystalline quartz, recognised for its violet colouring and natural crystal formations.
Agate is a form of chalcedony, commonly admired for its banding, inclusions and intricate natural patterns.
Flower Agate is a commercial name generally used for chalcedony displaying plume-like or flower-shaped mineral inclusions.
Quartz may occur in both crystalline and microcrystalline forms, producing beautiful combinations of polished stone, banded material and exposed crystal cavities.
In this particular sphere, the gentle transition between pink and lilac colouring is especially striking, creating a softer appearance than many traditional dark-purple Amethyst specimens.
Traditional Associations
Within contemporary crystal traditions, Amethyst, Flower Agate and Quartz are often symbolically associated with:
- Peace & Calm: Quiet reflection and creating a peaceful atmosphere.
- Spiritual Growth: Developing personal insight and spiritual practice.
- Intuition & Psychic Work: Exploring awareness and inner wisdom.
- Transformation: Personal development and embracing new beginnings.
- Self-Love: Compassion, acceptance and nurturing personal growth.
These are traditional spiritual associations rather than scientifically established effects.

Display & Care
Due to its substantial weight, display this sphere on a stable, appropriately sized stand capable of supporting it securely.
The exposed crystal cavities contain delicate natural points and should be handled carefully.
Clean the polished exterior gently using a soft, dry cloth. A very soft brush may be used to remove loose dust from accessible crystalline areas.
Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning products, prolonged soaking and rough handling.
Amethyst may fade following prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight, so a display position away from continuous sunlight is recommended.
Natural inclusions, fractures, mineral boundaries, cavities and growth features are part of the specimen's individual character.
Please note: Crystal sparkle, colour intensity and translucency will vary depending on lighting and viewing angle. Measurements and weight are approximate.
