The Story & Details
At 2.364 kg, this isn't a little moon to tuck into a gap on a shelf. It needs its own space.
Carved from Pink Picture Jasper into a large sweeping crescent, this statement piece is full of dusty rose, soft pink, cream and muted grey patterning. Across the polished surface, fine lines, layered markings and abstract formations create the landscape-like detail that makes picture jasper so interesting to look at.
And both sides are worth seeing. Turn it around and the pattern changes completely, moving from intricate geometric and banded areas into broader sweeps of pink with smaller cream and ochre details.
Displayed on a gold-toned metal stand, the scale and shape give it real presence without needing anything else around it. One of those pieces that can quite happily own the shelf by itself.
About Pink Picture Jasper
Picture jasper is an opaque variety of chalcedony known for natural patterns and markings that can resemble landscapes, layers and abstract scenes. Its appearance is created by variations and mineral inclusions within the material, meaning no two pieces develop exactly the same pattern.
The pink colouring in this piece gives the usual earthy character of picture jasper a softer palette, while still retaining the intricate natural markings that make the material distinctive.
Intention
Within crystal and spiritual practice, jasper is traditionally associated with grounding, stability and strength. Pink-toned jasper is also commonly associated with emotional steadiness and self-love, making this a piece that sits comfortably between softness and grounding.
These are traditional metaphysical associations rather than scientifically established properties.
