The Story & Details
The gods never disappeared. Their stories just kept changing hands.
Mythos Tarot: Guidance from the Greek Gods by Helena Elias brings the extraordinary world of Greek mythology into tarot, exploring the gods, goddesses, heroes and enduring stories of the ancient Greek pantheon through the symbolism of the cards.
Greek mythology has never been particularly interested in presenting perfect heroes or uncomplicated gods. Its stories are full of ambition, love, jealousy, betrayal, power, fate and transformation. The very things that make mythology fascinating also lend themselves beautifully to the archetypes and questions explored through tarot.
This deck draws upon those mythological figures and narratives to offer a different perspective on traditional tarot symbolism, inviting readers to explore the relationships between ancient stories, personal experience and intuitive interpretation.
Visually, Mythos Tarot takes a softer approach than its subject matter might suggest. Ethereal artwork, classical Greek motifs and delicate pastel colouring create an almost otherworldly appearance, while the pearlescent packaging catches the light beautifully.
It's a deck that feels both ancient in inspiration and contemporary in presentation.
