The Story & Details
Bold in colour. Beautifully complex. A statement written in stone.
Some crystals are chosen for their subtlety. This extraordinary Pink Tourmaline with Mica in Quartz Matrix Tower was chosen for quite the opposite.
Standing an impressive 24.5cm tall and weighing approximately 834g, this striking collector's tower showcases vivid raspberry-pink Tourmaline formations scattered throughout a beautiful matrix of pale Quartz, shimmering Mica and contrasting smoky-grey mineral layers.
The combination is immediately captivating.
Rich pink mineral formations emerge from the pale crystalline matrix, ranging from substantial patches near the pointed termination to smaller scattered inclusions extending down the length of the tower.
Some areas display concentrated clusters of intense pink, while others reveal delicate individual formations surrounded by silvery-white Quartz and darker mineral veining.
The result is a specimen with remarkable colour contrast, natural texture and visual depth.
Vibrant pink. Earthy greys. Shimmering mineral detail. All within one extraordinary piece.
Vivid Pink Tourmaline Throughout
The defining feature of this tower is the abundance of striking pink Tourmaline distributed throughout the Quartz matrix.
Rather than appearing as a single isolated inclusion, the pink formations are visible across much of the tower's height, creating a beautiful sense of movement through the stone.
Near the upper section, larger areas of rich raspberry and magenta colouring provide an immediate focal point.
Further down, smaller pink formations appear scattered through the lighter matrix, resembling fragments of vibrant colour suspended within the stone.
The natural variation in the size, shape and concentration of these formations gives the tower its distinctive character.
Pink Tourmaline is often associated with the mineral variety Rubellite when it displays suitable pink-to-red colouring, although the precise gemmological classification of the material in this specimen has not been independently established.
Shimmering Mica & Contrasting Quartz
What makes this tower particularly attractive is the contrast between the vivid pink Tourmaline and the surrounding mineral matrix.
Silvery-white Quartz creates a beautifully pale background, allowing the pink formations to stand out dramatically.
Interspersed throughout are darker smoky-grey areas and reflective Mica-rich sections, introducing depth and a subtle natural shimmer.
Mica is a group of sheet silicate minerals known for their distinctive layered structure and reflective surfaces.
These mineral features add another dimension to the tower, with light interacting differently across the polished Quartz, pink inclusions and darker crystalline areas.
The result is a specimen that changes character depending on which face is viewed.
Some angles emphasise the bright pink formations, while others reveal intricate grey mineral layers and pale crystalline textures.
A Statement in Natural Contrast
At almost 25cm tall, this is a substantial piece with an impressive display presence.
The polished six-sided tower shape provides a beautiful framework for the natural mineral formations, allowing the pink Tourmaline and contrasting matrix to be appreciated across multiple faces.
Its tall, elegant silhouette makes it particularly suitable for a display cabinet, crystal collection, altar or carefully styled interior space.
The combination of bold colour and natural geological complexity means it feels equally at home in a refined mineral collection or a more atmospheric, eclectic setting.
It is not a perfectly uniform specimen, and that is precisely its appeal.
Every variation in colour, every mineral boundary and every shimmering inclusion contributes to its individuality.
Why This Piece Was Chosen
This tower was personally selected for Crystal Asylum because of the extraordinary contrast between its vibrant pink Tourmaline and the surrounding Quartz and Mica.
The pink formations run throughout the specimen, creating a striking visual connection between the different sections of the stone.
The darker grey mineral layers and shimmering Mica provide a beautiful balance, giving the piece an earthy quality without diminishing the intensity of the pink.
Within crystal traditions, this combination is often symbolically associated with the balance between love, emotional renewal, grounding and protection.
Softness and strength do not have to be opposites.

Display & Care
Display on a stable, level surface capable of comfortably supporting the tower's weight.
Clean gently using a soft dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning products and sudden impacts.
Different minerals within the specimen may have different hardness and cleavage properties, so take particular care around natural mineral boundaries and any delicate areas.
Please note: Natural mineral specimens may contain inclusions, fractures, mineral boundaries, small pits, surface variations and differences in colour or texture. These are part of the specimen's natural character.
Colours and reflective effects may appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography and screen settings. Measurements and weight are approximate.
