The Story & Details
Smoky depths. Golden light. Three crystals caught between shadow and sunshine.
There is something particularly captivating about Quartz that holds both darkness and light within the same crystal.
These beautiful Smoky Citrine Crystal Towers display a striking combination of smoky brown colouring, warm champagne-gold tones and beautiful internal transparency.
Each tower has been polished into a classic six-sided point, allowing light to travel through the crystal and reveal its natural internal features.
The upper sections display rich smoky tones, while the lower portions become increasingly transparent, revealing golden warmth, internal veils and occasional flashes of rainbow colour.
Rather than appearing completely uniform, each tower has its own individual distribution of colour, clarity and internal formations.
Some areas appear almost dark chocolate brown, while others glow with warm honey and pale golden tones when illuminated.
Natural internal fractures catch the light at different angles, producing delicate rainbow reflections within the stone.
Three individual towers. Three different expressions of the same beautiful contrast.
Earthy darkness. Golden warmth. Light hidden within the crystal.
Smoky Citrine: Where Two Quartz Colours Meet
Smoky Citrine is a trade name commonly used for Quartz displaying both smoky brown and yellow-to-golden colouring.
Quartz is a mineral composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and measures approximately 7 on the Mohs hardness scale.
Smoky Quartz obtains its characteristic colouring through natural processes involving irradiation and colour centres associated with impurities within its crystal structure.
Citrine is the yellow to orange variety of Quartz, with its colouring generally associated with iron-related defects and colour centres.
When smoky and golden tones occur together, the resulting material is often marketed as Smoky Citrine.
These towers display beautiful transitions between darker smoky areas and warmer, more transparent sections.
Internal veils, fractures and inclusions add visual depth, while the polished faces allow the natural variations to be appreciated from different angles.
Some internal fractures produce small rainbow reflections through the interaction of light with the crystal.
The precise origin of the colouring and any possible heat treatment have not been independently verified.
Three Individual Crystal Towers
Each tower is individually available and photographed as part of this small collection.
Option A | £40
Positioned on the left in the group photograph, Tower A displays rich smoky brown colouring with beautiful internal variation.
Its polished termination contrasts with the lighter, more transparent areas towards the base.
Natural internal features and small rainbow reflections add further character.
Option B | £40
Positioned at the front centre, Tower B displays a beautiful balance of smoky colour and golden transparency.
The internal formations are particularly visible through the polished faces, with warm light travelling through the lower portion of the crystal.
Its proportions and rich colouring make it a striking individual display piece.
Option C | £38
Positioned on the right, Tower C displays deep smoky colouring towards its pointed termination, transitioning into warmer golden and clearer areas below.
The contrast between its darker upper section and illuminated base creates a beautiful gradient.
Its natural internal features add depth and character to the polished form.

Traditional Associations
Within contemporary crystal and spiritual traditions, Smoky Quartz and Citrine are associated with complementary symbolic qualities.
Smoky Quartz is traditionally associated with:
- Grounding: Representing stability, connection to the earth and remaining centred.
- Protection & Warding: Symbolically maintaining personal boundaries and energetic protection.
- Banishing & Releasing: Letting go of unwanted patterns and emotional burdens.
- Peace & Calm: Encouraging a sense of steadiness and reflection.
Citrine is traditionally associated with:
- Money & Prosperity: Symbolising abundance, financial opportunity and personal growth.
- Success & Opportunity: Representing ambition, motivation and new possibilities.
- Confidence & Power: Encouraging self-belief and personal determination.
- Manifestation: Symbolically supporting intention-setting and purposeful action.
Together, these associations make Smoky Citrine particularly meaningful to those drawn to the idea of grounded abundance, protected prosperity and confident personal growth.
The darker smoky tones represent stability and protection, while the warmer golden colouring symbolises opportunity, optimism and abundance.
These meanings are based on spiritual beliefs and cultural traditions rather than scientifically established therapeutic effects.

Display & Care
Quartz measures approximately 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it relatively durable, although pointed terminations and polished edges can still chip if knocked.
Display each tower on a stable, level surface away from areas where it may be accidentally knocked over.
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat and sudden temperature changes.
Clean gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive products and prolonged immersion in water.
Soft directional lighting can help reveal the natural transparency, internal formations and rainbow reflections.
Please Note
- You will receive one individual tower corresponding to your selected option: A, B or C.
- Each tower is a unique natural crystal with its own colour distribution, inclusions and internal features.
- Natural Quartz may contain internal fractures, mineral inclusions, veils and irregularities.
- Rainbow reflections vary depending on lighting conditions and viewing angle.
